Welcome...

To the May 2019 issue of Essex County Council's Provider Newsletter.

Equality Act and recruitment: Pre-Employment Health Questionnaires

We wish to remind providers that, when recruiting, asking a candidate any questions about a health or disability prior to making a job offer is unlawful under the Equality Act 2010. Information can be requested after an offer of employment has been made but using this information to withdraw the offer could be used against you at a tribunal. Further information about the legislation can be found here

Important: Use of Social Media

We would like to use this opportunity to remind you of the benefit of having effective guidelines in place for all employees on the use of social media at work, outside of work and whilst carrying out their day to day duties. This is particularly important when dealing with vulnerable adults and children as part of the services that you are providing. Click here to read the full article.

Winter Fast Track Acceptance Payment Survey

Just a reminder that the Winter Fast Track Acceptance Payment incentive ended on the 30th April 2019. To help us understand how successful the Winter Fast Track Acceptance Payments has been, a survey was issued on 2 May 2019 to all framework providers. We would request all framework providers to complete the short survey regardless of whether they received the payment or not to help inform future schemes.
