There are lots of ways you can search for a job - from the internet to recruitment agencies. But it can be daunting to know where to start.


Jobcentres have personal advisers who can help you search for a job that's suitable for you. They will take your needs into account, such as childcare or if you have a disability.

Search online

Many jobs are advertised online through recruitment websites or directly through company websites.

Find a job (GOV.UK) is one the UK's largest recruitment sites.

Find an apprenticeship (GOV.UK) lists vacancies where you can combine a job with study.

Evenbreak advertises inclusive job vacancies for disabled people.

Essex Jobs advertises lots of different roles across Essex.

Essex County Council advertises public sector jobs, apprenticeships and voluntary roles.

If you don't have access to a computer, you can use free computers at Essex Libraries or at your local Jobcentre.
